Saltney welcomes new Angelic Events store

A NEW wedding showroom has set up shop in Saltney’s High Street.

Angelic Events is the brainchild of Sarah Hodson and friend Anna Roberts, taking inspiration from when Sarah tied the knot herself.

Sarah, wife to Jason Hodson and mum of two boys, said: “The idea was hatched up between us on my hen do.

“We started just after I got married and when I had my first child we found there were quite a few people interested in buying wedding supplies and the business just grew from there.

“We are now working full time and used to be based at home in Holywell, but now we had the chance to move into the High Street in Saltney.”

Angelic Events specialises in offering items such as wedding-themed goods, party rooms, balloons and bridal flower bouquets, as well as a wide gift range and candy carts.

One of the reasons for the move to a shop is that business is booming for both Sarah and Anna.

“We have already got more than 50 weddings booked for this year and we needed a place to work from,” said Sarah.

And the new shop has had community support from its neighbours, Chester Fireplace and Heating Centre, as Sarah explained.

She said: “I used to work next door at the fireplace store, and they agreed to let this place to us. We are helping each other out.”

On hand to help open the new shop were Sarah’s parents, the mayor and mayoress of Holywell, Joe Johnson and Sue Johnson.

Saltney and Flintshire county councillor Richard Lloyd said: “It is good to see new businesses coming into Saltney and, having popped into Angelic Events, the displays look fantastic and I would like to wish them all the success for the future.”
