A SUCCESSFUL year for Deva Police ABC has ended with some of their top fighters being invited to a civic reception by Saltney Mayor Veronica Gay.
Louis Rigg and brother Joe, Jack Rodgers, Sam Pickering and Ross Broadbent were invited to a charity fundraiser to formally receive their Welsh ABA championship vests from the Mayor.
“It was a great honour,” said Deva coach Tommy Dix. “To have the mayor call our lads to attend an event and be presented with their vests in front of the great and good of the community was a real honour and it shows how far this club has come, not just inside the ring where we have had a lot of success, but outside where we have engaged with the community and brought a sense of pride to the town.”
Deva Police ABC will next be hosting a show at Saltney Social Club on Friday, January 21, where clubs from Manchester, Merseyside and North Wales will send fighters to try to put one on the host of Welsh champions Deva now has.
