Cricket: Henry Olonga to visit Flint for talk on his career and standing up to Robert Mugabe

FORMER Zimbabwean test cricketer Henry Olonga is coming to Flint Evangelical Church to speak about his astonishing cricket career and Christian faith.

Olonga became Zimbabwe’s youngest ever international and their first black cricketer when he was selected in 1995.

In 2003 he and compatriot Andy Flower defied Robert Mugabe’s regime, wearing black armbands to signal what they saw as the death of democracy in Zimbabwe.

Charged with treason and facing the death penalty, he fled to England.

Anyone is welcome to attend the church on Cornist Road in Flint to hear him share his story at 7pm on Thursday, October 13.
