Ewloe Green Primary School pupils are North Wales pairs cricket champions

SPORTY youngsters at a Ewloe primary school are celebrating being crowned North Wales cricket champions.

Pupils of Ewloe Green Primary School took top place in the Flintshire and North Wales pairs cricket tournaments in July.

The Year 4, 5 and 6 children then travelled to Derbyshire cricket ground for the national finals where they played against children from schools across England and Wales.

Even though they didn’t win, teacher David Sauvage said everyone had a great day.

He said: “I’m very proud of them all. They were fantastic. To win the North Wales tournament was fantastic and everyone had a good time at the national finals.”
