Caerwys are back in business

CAERWYS got their Clwyd League Division One promotion push back on track with a 5-0 home victory over Llannefydd on Saturday.

Neil Greenough and Gareth Henley bagged braces for Alex Vaughan’s side with John Earnshaw completing their scoring.

Point of Ayr were knocked out of the REM Jones Cup after they lost their second-round tie at home to Meliden 4-3 on penalties. An entertaining affair had finished 4-4 after extra-time with hat-trick hero Darren Hughes and Darren Johns accounting for the Point strikes.

Mostyn Dragons are also out after they were thrashed 7-1 at St Asaph. Geraint Rowlands reduced the deficit from the penalty spot.

Aston Park Rangers Reserves won 1-0 at Llanrwst United Reserves in Division Two. Matthew Jordan was the man who secured only Aston’s second win of the season.

Rock-bottom but improving Flint Mountain lost 2-0 at home to Abergele Rovers Reserves.

Connah’s Quay Tigers were beaten 7-2 at Rhuddlan Town Reserves in their Halkyn Cup second-round clash. Daniel Morris and Jordan Sullivan netted for the Tigers.
