Football: Gap Connah’s Quay inflict 4-0 defeat on Llangefni

DEFENDING Huws Gray Alliance champions Gap Connah’s Quay kept themselves among the front runners with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Llangefni Town at the Deeside Stadium.

Town, themselves Alliance champions once, have found life tough so far this season after making some major changes.

In contrast Nomads, still attempting to atone to player-manager Mark McGregor for their derby defeat to Flint Town United a fortnight ago, had hot-shot Gary O’Toole returning from the suspension he picked up against Flint and he grabbed a goal in each half to set Nomads on their way.

James McIntosh and Iwan Williams completed a dominant display with close range finishes.

Nomads fielded young goalkeeping prospect John Rushton in place of missing Louis Mackin but the youngster had little to test him for 90 minutes.

Saturday brings a trip to another lowly rival in Rhos Aelwyd as Nomads look to maintain their place in the leading group.
