Ice hockey: Flintshire Freeze finish at Solway Sharks but must wait to find out final league placing

FLINTSHIRE Freeze must wait to find out if they have secured third place in North Two after completing their regular season.

Chasing Hull Stingrays have one game left, on Sunday against Sheffield Senators, and the result will dictate where the Freeze finish.

In Karl Creamer’s final match in charge, Freeze completed their campaign at Solway Sharks on Saturday. Captained by Marc Lovell, they made the long trip to Scotland to face the unbeaten champions and put in a good defensive shift for the first two periods, netminder George Cox letting only two goals in. But Solway scored nine in the third session as the hosts won 11-0.
