GAP Connah’s Quay continue to lead the way in the development of futsal in Flintshire after hosting – and winning – another tournament.
Nomads U13s hosted a six-team tournament at Deeside Leisure Centre’s 3G artificial football pitch which also featured two teams from Airbus UK Broughton plus sides from Bangor City, Princes Villa from Ellesmere Port and Tottington High School in Bury.
After a round robin qualifying contest in the alternative version of five-a-side, Nomads and Bangor were first and second respectively and went into the final where Nomads won 5-2.
The hosts didn’t have everything their own way as they also held an U15s tournament where they ran out of steam in the final.
Nomads U15s faced another two Arbus teams, Tottington, Bangor and Rhyl in a round robin.
Nomads and Airbus reached the final and it was the Wingmakers who took county bragging rights as they emerged 4-2 victors.
