A CHRIS Inskip double saw Shotton Steel through 2-0 against Ewloe Harriers in the Flintshire Youth and Junior League U15s Challenge Cup.
There was joy too for Ysceifiog Wolves as they secured a 7-2 triumph over Holywell Town Juniors.
Scott Earnshaw and Thanaphom Roscoe were on target for the Wellmen, but goals from Iwan Roberts, Levi Gorman (3), Rhys Lloyd and Stephen Lee (2) were more than enough to send the Wolves through.
Connah’s Quay Tigers were tamed by Flint Town Juniors 8-1.
A Lewis Harris goal was the most the Tigers could manage as Grant Spenser, Dominic Keighley, Jordan Hensel, Jordan Bowden and Max Middleton shared the scoring load for Flint.
Both U15s league games saw teams score six goals.
Buckley Town United beat Mold Alex 6-1 with goals from Aled Bellis (2), Luke Muia and a Thomas Bridges hat-trick, Tom Smith scoring for Mold. Penyffordd defeated Mynydd Isa Devils 6-2 thanks to efforts from Gethin Thomas (4), Harrison Barlow and Joe Walsh. Connor McKeogh and Liam Prytherch got the Devils’ goals.
In the U14s league programme four goals from Nathan Mendosa and a Joe Johnson strike were enough to give Shotton Steel a 5-1 win over Halkyn United Juniors (Stuart Wynne).
Mynydd Isa Young Guns won by the same scoreline at home to Broughton Super Saints.
Liam Davies, Nathan Griffiths (2) and Mark Asplet (2) gave Isa a commanding lead, with only Aaron Turner able to respond.
Mold Alex Knights just missed out on membership of the 5-1 club, beating Broughton Super Saints Boro 4-1.
A hat-trick from Callum Wellings and a Connor Maguire strike did the damage, with Philip Jones scoring for Boro.
A Jack Collins double secured the points for Flint Town Colts at Holywell Town Juniors.
Flint won 2-1 with Dylan Taylor finding the net for the Wellmen.
Aaron Hassell pocketed a hat-trick for Penyffordd as they beat Mold Alex 4-1 in the U16s Division. Jared Carey scored the fourth as Alex Calvert hit back for the Alex.
Hawarden were held to a 3-3 draw by Connah’s Quay Tigers.
Goals for Hawarden’s Alex Jones (2) and Connor Arrowsmith were cancelled out by Ben Brierley (2) and Joe Jones.
