AIRBUS will receive their league trophy at the North East Wales Badminton Association presentation evening on Saturday.
Hosted at Corus Sports and Social Club on Rowleys Drive in Shotton, the awards night will see Airbus honoured as league champions of Division One, Flint Phoenix raise the Division two trophy and Mold B presented with the Division Three crown.
The three runners-up, Deeside, Ruthin A and Broughton respectively, will also be acknowledged.
Not everyone is collecting a prize on Saturday however, as Rossett A, Connah’s Quay A, Denbigh B and Llangollen were relegated.
The evening starts at 7.30pm. and tickets are £10 each from Jane Peace or Alan Bennett.
The Badminton Wales Junior Open Series finals at the Flash Leisure Centre in Welshpool saw a three-way tie at the top of the under 13 boys singles table, with Mold’s Dhruv Bansal, Oliver Stansfield and James Morris all winning two matches each.
Going on games difference it was Stansfield who picked up first with Bansal finishing in second.
In the U15 boys singles there was a straight final between Deeside clubmates Andrew Oates and Martyn Smith-Aldous.
Oates came out on top, winning 21-5 21-12.
Castell Alun’s Amy Jukes had no problems lifting the girl’s singles title while Andrew Oates and Joe Cottrill were crowned boys doubles champions.
Oates picked up his third title when he teamed up with Jukes to take the mixed doubles.
The pair defeated Martyn Smith-Aldous and Megan Rowlands in the final 21-12 21-2.
