JUPITER is rising early in the South Eastern evening sky and is by far the brightest object to be seen in that region.
The giant planet reaches opposition this weekend so is viewable at its brightest and largest this year.
Jupiter is a fine target in small telescopes and binoculars and now is a great time to view the giant planet in all its glory.
*If you want to find out more about astronomy and astrophotography, North Wales Astronomy Society (NWAS) is keen to offer help and advice. They hold regular meetings, which include observing nights that are open to the public for a small entrance fee of s1 on the night, with society members giving short talks on cloudy nights.
They also have regular guest speakers giving lectures and you can see more about forthcoming events at www.northwalesastro.co.uk
