Flintshire councillor Quentin Dodd pens book on Stansty Park, Wrexham
A FLINTSHIRE county councillor has penned a book about his former home.
New Brighton councillor Quentin Dodd has written Stansty – a story of the land and its people , which chronicles the history of Stansty Park, near Wrexham.
Cllr Dodd moved to the house when he was 16 and lived there until he was married.
He said: “My brother started to research the disappearance of a road on the land about 12 years ago.
“He looked at the details as a surveyor and I helped with research as a historian.”
When his brother passed away about five years ago Cllr Dodd decided to continue with the research.
“About three or four years ago I started to think about putting the information into a book,” he said.
“Initially it was just going to be for the family to read, but earlier this year I decided to publish it. I thought it was an interesting story.”
He added: “I thoroughly enjoyed doing it.
“This is the second book I’ve written and I really like doing the historical research.”
The book is available from Mold Bookshop, Siop y Siswrn in Wrexham and Mold or Wrexham County Borough Museum.
