VISITORS to Queensferry’s library have been kept busy with a series of activities as part of its official relaunch.
The library, situated on the John Summers High School campus, has been hosting events as part of its drive to attract a higher footfall and to showcase what is on offer.
Flintshire county councillors David Wisinger, Chris Jones and Ann Minshull enjoyed a recent history slide show talk at the library.
Cllr Wisinger said: “The slide show took us through the history of Queensferry, which was very interesting and led by Flintshire record officer Sue Copp.
“We learned quite a bit about the area and did not realise, for example, Saltney used to be called Queensferry as well.”
Cllr Jones added: “I would recommend people to get in touch with the record office and find out about their local area’s history, as it is really fascinating.”
The Queensferry library was one of a number earmarked for closure by Flintshire County Council late last year, but was kept open after a backlash from community leaders.
