FLINT-based kitchen company Dee Line Kitchens has gone into administration.
Kerry Bailey and Jonathan Newell of PKF accountants & business advisers were appointed administrators of Dee Line Ltd and its holding company Peter Bowe Hughes Holdings Ltd yesterday.
Dee Line Ltd has been manufacturing and fitting kitchens since 1971 and has been successful in the consumer and commercial housebuilding markets.
In 2010 Dee Line was bought out as the founders wanted to retire and the new owners created a new show room and new line of eco-friendly kitchens.
However, difficult trading conditions, combined with the slowdown in the housing marketing and financial pressures on homeowners, resulted in pressure on cashflow and forced the owners to call in administrators.
Kerry Bailey, of PKF said: “It is sad to see such a long-standing firm succumb to the difficult trading conditions which are prevalent in the housing market at the current time. This demonstrates that even those businesses with the best of reputations are not immune to the market forces currently being experienced. We are looking to secure a sale of the business to a purchaser who will build on the investments made by the previous management team, maintain production and safeguard the future of the thirteen employees and continuation of the well-known local brand.”
