FLINT will host a public event today (Thursday) for residents to have their say on the wholesale regeneration of the town centre.
Consultant DTZ/Taylor Young has been commissioned to develop a masterplan for the ‘future image, function and prospects of Flint’.
And regeneration experts will be on hand to talk to residents at the event at Flint Town Hall from 4.30-7.30pm.
Cllr Alex Aldridge, a former Flintshire County Council leader, told the Chronicle last week the ultimate goal was to make the town centre ‘more attractive and more appealing’.
The plans will include the demolition of the maisonettes and will explore the creation of social housing development, new retail units and a health centre.
“It’s a huge opportunity, a blank canvas, and people need to go down and tell them what they want. Go and raise the issues that are important to you.”
A county council spokesman said: “The consultants are keen to hear the views of the local community on what is working well in the town and what could be improved.”
