Flintshire schoolchildren take part in politics workshops

PRIMARY school children worked with older students to get their first insight into politics.

Children from Ysgol Bryn Coch in Mold and Ysgol Owen Jones in Northop got a helping hand from Year 13 pupils of the Alun School during a series of workshops on Friday.

Joanne McManus, a teacher at Bryn Coch, was one of the organisers of the event.

She said: “It’s a new initiative to forge links and to encourage pupils to mix, and to give them an insight into different fields.

“The children seemed to enjoy themselves and we’re hoping to do one every term from now on.”
