New look for students at Ysgol Maes Garmon, Mold

PUPILS of Ysgol Maes Garmon have started the school year with a new look.

Blazers have replaced sweatshirts as part of the school uniform, after requests from parents and pupils last year.

Headteacher Bronwen Hughes said: “A smart school uniform is essential, It sets the standard for behaviour and attitude to school work.

“Seeing the pupils dressed so smartly on the first day of term and receiving so many positive comments from the wider community has proved it was a change for the better.”

The football team is also sporting a new kit, thanks to sponsorship from Principality Building Society.

Mrs Hughes said: “We’re very grateful to Principality for its sponsorship – the team looks and feels great in the new strip and they’re going to be really confident going out on to the pitch.”

Mold’s Principality branch manager Mark Wilson said: “At Principality we have a strong commitment to the communities in which we operate and are delighted to extend a helping hand to Ysgol Maes Garmon, Mold.

“The school team is fostering and developing young football talent and encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle – so we wish them all the best and good luck for the season.”
