Old friends opening new garage firm in Connah’s Quay
TWO experienced mechanics are rolling up their sleeves after launching a new business venture in Deeside.
Friends Steve Roberts and Andrew Schofield decided to go into partnership and will open CQ MOT & Auto Centre near the Morrisons superstore at Ffordd Llanarth, Connah’s Quay, on Saturday.
Steve and Andrew, who lives in Holywell, first worked together 25 years ago and have stayed friends ever since.
Steve, 44, has been in the industry for almost 30 years.
He said: “We’re looking forward to opening and think we’ll bring something to Connah’s Quay.
“We’ve got a garage and a parts shop next door, and we’ve also taken on two young local lads from Deeside College on paid apprenticeships.”
Town council chairman Allan Roberts said: “It’s fantastic to see a new business open in Connah’s Quay, and I wish Steve and Andrew the best of luck.
“It’s also very pleasing to see two young local lads being taken on. It’s very positive news for the town.”
