A 24-year-old woman from Mynydd Isa was killed in a crash with a school bus yesterday morning (Wednesday, December 15).

Nikola Shelley Jones died when her Citroen Saxo collided with the bus, which was on its way to pick up pupils, on the B4500 between Chirk and Pontfadog at about 7.40am.

Her father Andrew said: "She was a happy, full of life girl who loved parties and will be desperately missed."

The former Argoed High School pupil also leaves behind her mother Christine and brother Philip.

Mr Jones added: "She will also be missed by her many close friends and family."

Simeon Molloy, headteacher at Argoed High School, said: "She was a very personable young lady with a bright future ahead of her which has been tragically taken away.

"At this moment in time our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the family, including her brother Phil, who was also a pupil at this school."
