Football: Mold Juniors devastate Hawkesbury Villa

WITH the Welsh Trophy taking precedent for most clubs in the Welsh National League there was a skeleton programme on Saturday.

In Division One, MOLD JUNIORS delivered a crushing blow to HAWKESBURY VILLA as they won 7-2 thanks to goals from Danny Jones (2), Mario Merola, Christopher Davey (2), Scott Davies and Christian Davies.

In the Reserves Division, CASTELL ALUN went down 3-1 to Chirk AAA, Adam Larney’s goal proving scant consolation for Castell.

AIRBUS drew 1-1 draw with Cefn Druids while HAWARDEN RANGERS were unlucky to lose 3-2 to visiting Borras Park Albion.

Tom Drill and Harrison Nyle scored for Rangers but Albion dug deep to edge the result.

In the Reserves and Colts, MOLD ALEX maintained their lead at the top of the table as they saw off SALTNEY TOWN 4-0 with goals from Dan Mapp-Jones, Andy Sheenan, Andy Probert and Darryl Hughes.

NEW BRIGHTON matched them, overwhelming Garden Village 4-0 thanks to a four-goal haul from Lee Cousins.

FC Cefn beat PENYFFORDD 2-1 despite a goal from Ashley Salisbury.
