LIVING up to their name, the Flintshire Flyers under 12s team took on Sutton-in-Ashfield on Saturday and ran out 9-0 winners.
The Flyers dominated the encounter and underlined their growing strength as they completed a shut-out while narrowly failing to break into double figures.
James Shaw opened the scoring and also went on to set up two others as he exploited the gaps in the Ashfield defence.
Lewis Morgan went one better with a brace of goals and two assists as the Flyers broke through at will.
Captain Liam Evans claimed a hat-trick, two of which came within 10 seconds of each other as he hit a purple patch in the game.
A second hat-trick was scored by the Flyers’ Spirit-of-the-Game winner Scott Fisher, two of which were laid on by Kieron Clarkson.
Libor Krempasky and Erik Tuft also chipped in with assists in a commanding performance.
But they will not be able to build on their success as the match was their last for a while.
The Flyers have been grounded until January 2011 by the winter break.
They will try to pick up where they left off when the season restarts in the New Year, when the Flyers will begin with a tough match against Manchester Phoenix.
