Ice Hockey: Flintshire Raptors under 10s crush Solihull Junior Barons

ANOTHER convincing away win for the Flintshire Raptors under 10s side saw them get the better of Solihull Barons.

The Raptors travelled all the way down to Solihull in the Midlands to play the Junior Barons U10s side and beat them 12-7.

The Barons were first on the scoreboard but the Raptors soon put paid to any hopes they had of snatching a result, hitting back almost straight away to equalise before setting off on a goalscoring spree that lasted the entire game.

The home side never regained the lead as the Raptors kept finding ways through the Barons defence and once in had no problem slotting the puck past the goaltender time after time.

Throughout the game the Barons never quite lost touch with their visitors but they did struggle to keep up, scoring just enough to force the Raptors not to take their foot off the gas as the game wound down.

With the Barons playing catch-up, all the Raptors could do was concentrate and get over the line.

And in the end they managed it with ease, taking maximum points having put in a very mature performance on the road.

The winning goals for the Raptors came from James Shaw (5), Erik Tuft (3), Kieran Clarkson (2, plus 2 assists), Louis Morgan (1 plus 1) and Terry Roberts.

The Spirit-of-the-Game was awarded to Aiden Fothergill.
