Football: Hone your skills at Deeside Soccer School’s Easter training sessions

EASTER will once more bring Deeside Soccer School’s coaching school to the fore for young players keen to improve their game.

UEFA and FAW-trained coaches will guide the sessions, designed to be fun while improving the level of every player in attendance, no matter what their level of experience.

The school holiday scheme is pen to players aged 5-18.

The Soccer School has grown rapidly since it was established last year and now runs a handful of teams while also looking at how it can improve on the facilities if offers players.

On Tuesday, April 19 and Tuesday, April 26 sessions will be held at Sandycroft Football Development Centre on Phoenix Street, Sandycroft, between 10am and 3pm with post-training refreshments provided at the New Inn.

On Thursday, April 21 and Thursday 28 sessions will take place at Garden City and Sealand Football Development Centre between 10am and 3pm. Refreshments will be provided by The Leprechaun.

Each session costs £10 per player and all coaches have passed the necessary CRB checks.

Players who enjoy the sessions are welcome to join the soccer school as players.

Regular training takes place on Monday evenings at Hawarden High School from 7pm to 8pm, on Wednesdays at Deeside Leisure Centre (7pm-8pm) on Saturday mornings at Garden City from 10am-noon and Sundays at Sandycroft (10am-noon) with sessions costing £3.

Deeside Soccer Schools junior football team have spent the past season playing friendlies against team from the North East Wales League, Clwyd Junior League and competitions in Chester.

Coach Clive Davies is proud of the progress they have made in their first season together.

“The way the lads have progressed has been very pleasing,” he said.

“They are superb to work with and we have forged a good relationship between the players and staff at the soccer school.”
