NORTH Wales firm Gap Personnel, which has bases in Flint and Wrexham, has been named one of the top 10 industrial recruiters in the UK.
The company comes eighth in the Top 250 Report, the industry’s definitive guide, having climbed up a place from the previous year after achieving £39m in industrial sales despite the recession.
The guide, published by industry magazine Recruitment International, concentrates on the time period of January-December 2009 and reinforces gap’s reputation as a growing force.
The firm is the largest independent recruitment company in Wales.
It operates from 10 sites in north Wales, including a premises in Trelawney Square, Flint, from which it covers the major industrial sectors of Flint and Deeside.
Gap personnel places 1,500 workers per week in Wales and about 5,000 temps nationally each week.
The company’s total brand turnover for the UK is £50m.
Managing director Gary Dewhurst, who founded the firm, said: “We are delighted to be named in the guide, and particularly with the fact that we have moved up a place.
“It helps to differentiate gap as a genuine specialist in this sector.
“One of the biggest factors that sets us apart is that our shareholders and directors are all actively involved in the day-to-day running of the business, meeting clients and running accounts, which is unusual for a top company.”
He added: “Our clients can be reassured they are dealing with one of the largest and most established industrial recruitment agencies in the UK.”
Based in Yale Business Village, Wrexham Technology Park, gap employs 25 people at its head office in Wrexham.
The company supplies workers to more than 1,500 businesses annually and runs 12 fully independent on-site contracts.
