Football: Ten-man Penyffordd unlucky to lose out in Premier Division

WITH the Welsh Cup occupying most of the teams in the Premier Division of the Welsh National League, PENYFFORDD were the only Flintshire side in league action as they travelled to Brymbo.

Unfortunately the home side sealed a 2-1 win.

Peny saw Sam Richardson sent-off but still took the lead, Phil Simons finding the net.

Craig Wood squared the match on the stroke of half time and with 12 minutes left, Mark Woods nicked the points for Brymbo to send them joint-top of the table.

In Division One HAWKESBURY were on the wrong end of a 9-0 reverse to Borras Park Albion.

MOLD JUNIORS made the short trip to NEW BRIGHTON to land a 1-0 win, Chris Wolfe scoring.

CASTELL ALUN COLTS hit their stride with a 5-2 win over Llanuwchllyn, James Gidney (3) Damian Wilkins and Kevin Jones on target.

SALTNEY TOWN drew 3-3 with Penley. Having led through Dane Mason, Town were pegged back and Penley took the lead.

Jake Gibbons levelled for the Bordermen but with five minutes to go Penley scored again.

Town threw everything at them and in the final minute of injury time Tom Lynch bagged a point for his side.
