Flintshire drivers warned to expect delays due roadworks at A55 Warren Bank interchange
MOTORISTS are facing more misery as one of the main roads into North Wales is closed for a second weekend.
Work on the A55/A5104 Warren Bank interchange at Broughton took place last weekend and will continue on Saturday and Sunday.
Resurfacing work on the new roundabouts resulted in full closures of the A5104 Mold Road and the westbound on-sliproad and eastbound off-sliproad that connect the A55 with the A5104.
Diversions are being put in place again this weekend during the closure, which will run from 6am on Saturday to 6pm on Sunday, while assistance with turning manoeuvres will be provided at both the Cherry Dale Road junction and the layby west of Warren Court.
Once completed it is thought there will be no further requirement for the one-way system over the A55 bridge.
It is possible that there will be a third weekend of closures over the weekend of November 27 and 28 if work is not completed, council highways chiefs have said.
A spokesman for Flintshire County Council said: “The Welsh Assembly Government, Flintshire County Council and Alun Griffiths Contractors apologise for inconvenience that may be caused to the travelling public during these restrictions, and thank you in anticipation of your continued patience and cooperation during the final stages of construction of this project.”
